The margin for error is miniscule.
In the video below, Luke Ellery shows exactly what happens when you miss Phillip Island’s T1 turn-in point by a small margin in a formula ford at just under 140 miles per hour. Despite the error — which was recognized immediately by Ellery — he hung on and worked the wheel and throttle through the corner.
Ellery courageously battled the car through the corner but in the end, the miscue proved too much. But this video isn’t about missing a turn-in at Phillip Island, it’s about Ellery’s car control after missing his mark. Enjoy.

Take a ride with 2012 Star Mazda Champion Jack Hawksworth during qualifying for Round 15 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Hawksworth posted a 1:21.631 securing his record 10th pole position of the season. The talented British pilot went on to win the first race (Round 15) by 0.590 seconds ahead of Gabby Chaves. It was his eighth win of the season. Enjoy.
