Today’s Sunday morning drive features USF2000 National Championship driver Luke Ellery as he passes 33 cars in just four laps in an Australian Formula Ford race at the Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst.

While Ellery appears to have a key horsepower advantage he also uses some incredible driving to pass an average of 8.25 cars per lap. Take close notice of his mid-corner rolling speed and daring outside passes. Enjoy.

Today’s high-speed ‘Sunday Morning Drive’ comes courtesy of Team GDT and Alex Ardoin.

Alex Ardoin hasn’t lost much in terms of speed after sitting out the bulk of the 2010 season. He won his only race in 2010 — conquering Trois Rivieres for the second-consecutive year.

More recently he set a new record at Eagles Canyon Raceway, while working with Team GDT on car set-up for the upcoming season. His fast lap (1:39.58) broke the previous record of 1.39.993 set by Anders Krohn in 2009.

Take a ride with Ardoin during his record-setting lap at Eagles Canyon in the Team GDT Star Mazda car below….

Today’s ‘Sunday Morning Drive’ comes courtesy of American Gary Carlton. Carlton exemplifies his car control and wet weather skills in this just-for-fun video. The title says, only 360s — but there is also a pretty solid 720 (and a near 1080) included.

Enjoy.

Video of the Day

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a ‘Video of the Day’ and with the SKUSA SuperNationals set to take place this weekend at the Rio in Las Vegas, Nevada… it seems like a good time to feature shifter kart standout Gary Carlton.

Carlton will be competing in the KZ2 division this weekend and should be considered a favorite for the outright title.

The following video was shot onboard Carlton’s CRG kart at New Jersey Motorsports Park and features a close look at his left foot. Take notice of how smoothly he applies brake pressure and, more importantly, his timely, soft release of the brake pedal. Hint: Drivers… you can learn something here.
