Colin Fleming is enjoying his time driving late model stock cars, but misses the thrill of driving open wheel cars. It’s nice to hear that Colin is still so passionate about open wheel racing and that he hasn’t forgotten his roots. It would be great to see him back in a single seater, but if not… we will still root for him in a car with fenders.
For anyone who has followed the U.S. karting ranks… you will see a few familiar names in the NASCAR Late Model standings (linked above).

Points leader in the Rolex GT class, Paul Edwards, had the opportunity of a lifetime; racing Doug Mockett’s 1975 Penske PC3 Formula One car at Monaco. Not only did the former Team USA scholarship driver take the opportunity, he made history. This is the first Formula One victory at Monaco by a Team USA scholarship winner.
Indy Car drivers Justin Wilson (former F1 pilot) and Graham Rahal passed their rookie orientation for Indy shortly after David Evans passed away on Sunday. Evans was a mechanic for Team Newman/Haas Racing. Both Rahal and Wilson drive for the team. According to the police report, the county coroner’s office determined that stress from the fight induced a stroke. They have ruled the death a homicide. Sad news for the team. My condolences go out to all the team members, family, and friends of David Evans.
