Sorry for the tardy posting, here’s the 2011 Star Mazda Championship schedule as released yesterday. The current calendar features 11 races spread over ten weekends, with one venue yet to be determined.
Update: As expected, Barber Motorsports Park has been added as the April 10th event.
The temporary schedule breakdown looks like this:
- 40% – temporary street circuits
- 30% – ovals
- 30% – road courses
The schedule looks good. Officials have picked some stellar race tracks and have really mixed things up this season in order to give drivers the most diversity behind the wheel. Additionally, the schedule aligns nicely with some high-profile events, including IndyCar, USAC and ALMS races.
2011 Star Mazda Schedule

May 27-28 O’Reilly Raceway Park
June 18-19 Milwaukee Mile
June 24-25 Iowa Speedway
July 22-23 Mosport

August 26-27 Infineon Raceway
September 3-4 Baltimore Grand Prix
September 16-17 Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
The Formula Ford 1600 Championship Series released its inaugural schedule today for the 2011 season. The calendar features 10 races spread over five weekends.
2011 F1600 Formula F Championship Series Schedule
April 8-10 VIRginia International Raceway
June 3-5 Watkins Glen International
June 30-July 2 Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course
September 16-17 Lime Rock Park
October 14-16 Watkins Glen International
The schedule looks good and will run in conjunction with the F2000 Championship Series. The combination of both series running at the same venue should make for some pretty fun weekends. It’s too bad they had to double-up the Watkins Glen stop, but it’s a great track and I don’t think too many drivers will complain about racing at “The Glen.”
The World Series by Renault released its 2011 schedule today. Next season will mark the final year of competition for the current Formula Renault 3.5 car as Renault Sport Technologies have confirmed the release of a new car for the 2012 season.

USF2000 National Championship
The USF2000 National Championship released its 2011 schedule today. The new calendar features 12 races spread over seven events. Here’s how it breaks down:
- 14.29% Ovals
- 28.57% Temporary Street Circuits
- 57.14% Permanent Road Courses
The schedule — which is subject to change — looks pretty good. It offers drivers a chance to race in front of the Indy Racing League, American Le Mans Series, USAC, and the Star Mazda Championship. The best addition, in my mind, is the Baltimore Grand Prix with IndyCar and the ALMS over Labor Day.
Update: Autobahn has been removed from the 2011 schedule.

The USF2000 National Championship has organized a 5-race Winterfest for drivers looking to pick up some additional seat-time heading into the 2011 season. The Winter Schedule is as follows:

- Jan. 12-13: Rounds 3-5 – Homestead-Miami Roadcourse

PKRA Track - Phoenix
Due to some issues with the asphalt at the Grand Sierra Resort of Reno, Nevada, CKI officials have decided to move the 2nd Round of the CKI WSK North American Championship to the Phoenix Kart Racing Association (PKRA) track in Arizona. The race was originally scheduled to be run on a temporary parking lot circuit in Nevada.
It’s unfortunate that the venue has to change but based on the reports I’ve heard, the cracks in the asphalt at the Grand Sierra Resort have worsened over the winter months. The addition of PKRA looks to be a good move as the facility was just recently repaved.
It’s entirely possible that CKI will return to Reno and the Grand Sierra Resort in the future.
For those planning to attend the 2nd Round, only the venue has changed, the date has not changed and the event will still take place May 14-16, 2010.
The Formula 3 Euro Series released their 2010 calendar this morning. The current schedule features 9 stops (18-races). The season finale will be held at Hockenheimring in 2010 rather than Magny-Cours as originally announced.
The series has featured a 20-race schedule (10-Rounds) since its inception so it’s likely that the series administrators are waiting to see what kind of response the 16-race schedule gets prior to adding a 9th stop in 2010. (update: a 9th stop has been added … see above)
Without further ado, here is your 2010 F3 Euro Series Schedule:

- 75% permanent road courses

The schedule looks good. The drivers will run alongside the likes of Star Mazda, the Atlantic Championship, Indy Lights, ALMS, and IndyCar- among others during the 2010 season. Dan Andersen has set out to make this a “Pro” series and the schedule reflects that.

The Star Mazda Championship released their 2010 13-race, 11-weekend schedule earlier today. Next season will be the 20th year of competition for the Star Mazda Championship.
The schedule break-down looks like this:
