2010 F3 Euro Series Schedule

Posted January 29, 2010 at 10:09 am F3 Euro Series, Schedule Comments

The Formula 3 Euro Series released their 2010 calendar this morning.  The current schedule features 9 stops (18-races).  The season finale will be held at Hockenheimring in 2010 rather than Magny-Cours as originally announced.

The series has featured a 20-race schedule (10-Rounds) since its inception so it’s likely that the series administrators are waiting to see what kind of response the 16-race schedule gets prior to adding a 9th stop in 2010.  (update: a 9th stop has been added … see above)

Without further ado, here is your 2010 F3 Euro Series Schedule:

F3 Euro Series: 2010 Calendar

April 9-11: LeCastellet
April 24-25: Hockenheimring
May 22-23: Valencia
July 3-4: Norisring
August 7-8: Nürburgring
August 21-22: Zandvoort
September 4-5: Brands Hatch
September 18-19: Oschersleben
October 15-17: Hockenheimring

USF2000 National Championship

USF2000

The USF2000 National Championship released their 12-race 2010 schedule earlier today.  The breakdown looks like this:

  • 75% permanent road courses
  • 16.67% ovals
  • 8.33% temporary street circuits

The schedule looks good.  The drivers will run alongside the likes of Star Mazda, the Atlantic Championship, Indy Lights, ALMS, and IndyCar- among others during the 2010 season.  Dan Andersen has set out to make this a “Pro” series and the schedule reflects that.

The Star Mazda Championship released their 2010 13-race, 11-weekend schedule earlier today.  Next season will be the 20th year of competition for the Star Mazda Championship.

The schedule break-down looks like this:

  • 69.2% -permanent road courses.
  • 15.4% -ovals.
  • 15.4% -street courses.

The schedule actually looks really strong, probably one of the best I’ve seen for 2010.  Yes—it does include a return to Road America.

The Atlantic Championship released their 2010 schedule late yesterday.  The current calendar contains a 12-race schedule, but leaves room for the addition of one more event.  It’s disappointing to see another Atlantic schedule without a Road America stop planned, but at least the possibility is there.

When I asked an Atlantic representative about the return of Road America, I received the following response:

It’s possible.  Stay tuned…

I’m unfortunately not at liberty to share any possible additions to the schedule right now.

The comments don’t mean much at this point, except that a stop at just about any venue is possible.

There is also a rumor floating around that the Atlantic Championship is hoping to lock down a support role at a Canadian F1 race— should F1 return to Montreal in 2010.

As noted above, I guess we will all have to stay tuned.  For now, here is your 12-race 2010 Atlantic Championship schedule…. [More]

Posted October 14, 2009 at 12:53 pm Karting, Schedule Comments

Championship Karting International updated their 2010 schedule earlier today.  They originally released the 2010 calendar in early August and at the time, I wrote:

The announcement is likely a new record for the earliest release of a schedule.

The early release didn’t offer much benefit as the 2010 schedule is now completely revised.  Make the jump for the full schedule and my thoughts on the changes…. [More]

2010 Indy Lights Schedule

Posted August 20, 2009 at 4:48 pm Schedule Comments

The 2010 (13-race) Indy Lights schedule was released today, featuring 12 returning tracks and the addition of Barber Motorsports Park.

The new schedule features:
23.0%- street courses
38.5%- road courses (counting Edmonton)
38.5%- ovals

It seems the series is continuing to put more emphasis on road racing than they have in the past. That said, they have done a nice job of balancing everything out to give the drivers an adequate amount of experience in each vocation. In 2008, 8 out of the 12 events were run on an oval. This season, 2009, the schedule had a nice mix with roughly 50% of the races on road courses and the other 50% on ovals.

Without further ado, here is your 2010 Indy Lights schedule.

CKI Releases 2010 Schedule

Posted August 12, 2009 at 9:57 pm Karting, Schedule Comments

CKI (Championship Karting International) released their 2010 schedule earlier today. It’s funny that they release their 2010 schedule this early, as most series are still finalizing plans with their 2009 hosts.

The announcement is likely a new record for the earliest release of a schedule. That said, their motivation for doing so is quite obvious. Entry numbers have been dismal all year (regardless of the sanction or series), so CKI is stepping up and “setting a date” for competitors. It only makes sense that the earlier the schedule is released, the more likely people are to mark their calendars for the following season. Let’s hope their methodology works.

The CKI crew has done a nice job running their program thus far into the season. Without further ado, here is their 2010 schedule: [More]
