Team Canada Scholarship winner Garrett Grist completed a test last week aboard a Brian Graham Racing/Team Grote F1600 car with Avon Tires at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. The Avon tires will be used at Brands Hatch during the Formula Ford Festival on Oct. 27-28.

Grist will fly to Europe on Monday to meet with Cliff Dempsey Racing (the team he will drive for in the Festival). On Tuesday, final seat fittings will be completed with open practice beginning on Wednesday, Oct. 24.

“I am very excited to be heading over to England to run with Cliff Dempsey Racing,” Grist stated in a release. “The Formula Ford Festival is one of those events you want to race at some point in your career. And to be doing it as part of the Team Canada Scholarship is a real honour. We had a great test with BGR and that gave an opportunity to try out the Avon tire. I really like it a lot. I can’t wait to get in the car.”

Qualifying for the Festival will begin on Friday with heat races to follow. The event will conclude Saturday with semi-finals and the Final.
