News and Views on Drivers Chasing Open-Wheel Stardom


Matthew Di Leo and Antii Buri topped the time charts in today’s USF2000 tests at Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the second-annual Chris Griffis Memorial Mazda Road to Indy Test. Buri, the 2012 British Formula Ford Champion, set the fastest USF2000 lap of the day (1:28.135).

Star Mazda

Spencer Pigot topped both Star Mazda sessions with a fast lap of 1:25.603. Shelby Blackstock was within a half second of Pigot’s time in both sessions. Renan Guerra was third in session one and Kyle Kaiser finished third-quick in the day’s final session.

Indy Lights

Irishman Peter Dempsey posted the morning’s fast time in Indy Lights with Zach Veach producing the day’s best time in session two (1:19.2209). Gabby Chaves produced the third-quickest time of the day.
