I tweeted the news earlier this week but missed a blog update, Paul Alspach will join Robinson Motor Sports for the USF2000 Winterfest and USF2000 National Championship openers at Sebring International Raceway.

The Pennsylvania native will pilot the squad’s No. 97 Formula Enterprises car in the National Class. Alspach’s past experience includes quarter midgets, karting, and SCCA regional competition in FE. Last season, he won the Bertil Roos formula car championship. In 2010, he was named Series’ rookie of the year.

For now, this looks to be a one-off deal for both openers but Alspach remains optimistic about finding the funding for a full campaign in 2012. Stay tuned for updates.
