Indy Lights veteran Stefan Wilson topped the time chart late in today’s 18-car practice session at the 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Wilson was the only driver to crack the 190 mph barrier.
Drivers will return to action on May 27 for the Freedom 100 at IMS — the first oval race of the season.
Victor Garcia (3rd overall) was the quickest rookie on track Friday. Josef Newgarden was fourth quick, followed by Duarte Ferreira who bumped fellow rookie Rusty Mitchell to sixth overall late in the session.
While the actual times don’t mean much at this point, here’s the final standings (featuring best lap speed) following today’s incident-free session.
