The Skip Barber National Championship resumed action last weekend at the scenic Virginia International Raceway.

In Round 3, Scott Anderson picked up his first career win after a heated battle for the lead with pole sitter Sebastian Ordonez. Danilo Estrela rounded out the podium with a third-place result.

Trent Hindman was fourth and Shelby Blackstock completed the top-five.

On Sunday, the Series had its first repeat winner. Canadian Thomas McGregor picked up the win besting Anderson by 0.025 seconds at the stripe after starting sixth. McGregor also won Round 1 at Sebring International Raceway.  Brandon Newey finished third Saturday after holding the lead for several laps.

Remo Ruscitti was fourth overall and Hindman rounded out the top-five. Sebastian Ordonez, who finished sixth, was also able to run up front for a good portion of the race… illustrating just how close the weekend’s racing was.

The SBN drivers return to action May 27-30 at Lime Rock Park for Rounds 5 & 6.
