Monaco removed from GP3 calendar

It was announced this morning that Monaco will no longer be on the 2011 GP3 schedule. Apparently it was decided that there just isn’t enough time to fit in the GP3 race.

This is a pretty big loss for the Series as well as for race fans attending Monaco.

GP3 officials have added an additional two-day test  — with the venue and date to be announced in the coming weeks — to the 2011 calendar in an effort to provide the drivers with more seat time. The championship will now be run over eight rounds.

    Well, its that just a kick in the rear? Nothing like having your biggest event yanked out from under you. Can’t make any of the sponsors happy, either.
