News and Views on Drivers Chasing Open-Wheel Stardom

Andretti Autosport teammates Spencer Pigot and Zach Veach traded the top spot in this morning’s first two practice sessions at Homestead-Miami Speedway, but it was Pigot who earned the pole position for Round 3 of the 2011 USF2000 Winterfest with a 1:19.816.

The 17-year-old Florida resident took full advantage of the prestigious starting spot during today’s race and led from flag-to-flag for his first USF2000 victory.

Veach, winner of Round 2, finished runner-up after starting off-pole with New Jersey’s Trent Hindman nipping Round 1 winner Vinicius Perdigao with two laps remaining. Matt DiLeo was classified fifth with JR Smart claiming the National Class victory as the lone entrant.
