Nick Andries has signed with Dale Pelfrey of Pelfrey Indy Racing (P.I.R.) for the 2011 Star Mazda Championship.
Andries, 20, spent his 2010 season running in both the Skip Barber National Championship and the Star Mazda Championship. His growth and improvement over the past year was evident to all who watched him. He picked up the Clutch Performer Award at the Star Mazda awards banquet for earning the most points in the final six races of the season.
The St. Petersburg College (Florida) student looks to put all his focus on the Star Mazda Championship in 2011 with the support of Pelfrey and the guidance of team manager Geoff Fickling – formerly of Andersen Racing.
Andries has also sampled an Indy Lights car this off-season and hopes to make that jump down the road.
