Andretti Autosport’s Zach Veach earned his second pole position in as many days for Round Two of the 2011 USF2000 Winterfest at Sebring International Raceway.  But unlike yesterday, he turned today’s front row start into a dominating race win.  Veach and teammate Spencer Pigot both suffered gearbox failures while running up front Monday, Jan. 3, in Round One.

During today’s race, Veach, a second-year USF2000 competitor, built a two-second lead in the opening lap on cold tires and never looked back, driving to a 16-second lead by the time the checkered flag waved.

Pigot, who qualified third, crossed the stripe second after a heated battle with Round One winner Vinicius Perdigao. Matthew DiLeo took fourth in class, fifth overall behind National competitor JR Smart, with Trent Hindman unable to start the event due to a mishap in qualifying. Hindman was quickest early in qualifying, but crashed during the session. His car was unable to be repaired in time for the race.

Drivers return to action Jan. 12-13 at Homestead Miami Speedway for the USF2000 Winterfest 3-race finale.
