Zach Veach has committed to a sophomore season of USF2000 competition with Andretti Autosport in 2011.

The 16-year-old Ohio native finished fifth in the USF2000 National Championship point standings this season, while driving for Andretti Autosport. He logged a season-best result of second place in the series’ finale weekend at Road Atlanta. He compiled eight top-five finishes in 2010.

Veach will continue a strong testing program this winter, including participation in the 2011 USF2000 Winterfest — a two weekend, five-race series scheduled for early January.

This is a really good decision for Veach’s development. He showed a lot of potential in 2010 and with another year of guidance from Andretti Autosport, I expect we will see that potential realized.
