Yacaman Competing in the 3-mile run of the Morse Park Triathlon

On June 26, Indy Lights driver Gustavo Yacaman competed in the Morse Park Summer Triathlon in Indiana.  The event consisted of a 600-yard swim, 14-mile bike ride, and a 3-mile run.  He completed the event in 1:37:03.6 – which placed him 207th overall and seventh in his age-group (18-20).

It’s always nice to see drivers working hard on their conditioning and fitness away from the race track and this is a perfect example.

“Racing is a very physical sport, very physical indeed,” said Yacaman in a release. “To be in shape, I always look for alternative ways. I don’t just stick to the gym and lift weights. I really like to run and ride both mountain and road bike. Lately I have started to pick up swimming. So then I thought why not mix it all up and do a triathlon?”

Yacaman even shaved his legs for the event – talk about dedication.

Indy Lights drivers will return to action July 18 on the Streets of Toronto.
