Due to inadequate funding, Ben Searcy and ZSports Midwest have announced their withdrawal from USF2000 and F2000 Championship competition. Neither party has ruled-out a return, but until the necessary financial support is obtained, the 2010 season is on hiatus.
In 2009, Searcy won his first F2000 Championship event by a large margin on a rain-soaked VIR circuit. He ended the season with five top-5 finishes en route to the 2009 F2000 Championship Rookie of the Year title.
This season, he has run two races in the USF2000 National Championship – both on the Streets of St. Petersburg, Florida. In Race 2, he drove from 12th on the grid to finish 5th, earning hard charger honors. Searcy is a true talent and it would be a shame to see him conclude the 2010 season on the sidelines.
