Team Apex Racing announced yesterday that they have reached an agreement with Joao Victor Horto to run the 2010 Star Mazda Championship.
Horto was a pretty obvious candidate for a Star Mazda role with Apex in 2010. He tested with the team back in October. In 2009, Joao competed in the Formula BMW-Americas series (with Team Apex) and finished 7th in the overall standings. The 19-year-old Brazilian had his best finish of the year at Road America, where he finished 2nd. I expect we will see a very evident learning curve in 2010. Much like last season, it’s likely that we will see continuous improvement throughout the year.
