Tatiana Calderon
Tatiana Calderon has signed with Juncos Racing for the 2010 Star Mazda Championship. Calderon, 16, competed with Juncos Racing in 2005-2006 via the team’s karting program.
The young Colombian completed her first Star Mazda test with the team back in November. Prior to that, she tested with the team in a Renault 1600 car.
She will be testing with the team next month in the first official Star Mazda test of 2010 at Sebring International Raceway (January 23-24). This is pure speculation, but it’s likely that this will be a two-year program for Calderon. She has done very well in the karting ranks and I’m looking forward to watching her development this season in Star Mazda. With an adequate amount of seat-time and testing, I’m confident that she will do quite well in her rookie campaign.
