Canadian driver Philip Major has reportedly signed with Sam Schmidt Motorsports for the 2010 Indy Lights season. Major, 21, has been racing in Europe for the last two years in British F3. His previous experience includes Formula BMW-USA as well as few races in the Skip Barber National Championship. Last season, in British F3, his best finish was sixth which occurred at Spa-Francorchamps.
Prior to signing with Sam Schmidt Motorsports, the 21-year old Canadian completed a successful test with the team. I’m not sure what to expect from Philip next year. He showed really good speed on a few occasions in the Formula BMW ranks but has since failed to really stand-out. It will be good to see him back in the States next season and fun to watch his progress.
