Andersen Racing Indy Lights Test

Andersen Racing will be testing Richard Kent, Joel Miller and Gustavo Yacaman later today in a Indy Lights car at Palm Beach International Raceway.

Joel Miller, who is currently scheduled for a half day test, had the opportunity to sample an Andersen Racing Indy Lights car just over a year ago on the Sebring short course.  Miller started the 2009 Star Mazda season with JDC Motorsports but made the switch to Andersen Racing in early July.  Pure speculation here, but the move to Andersen Racing may have had something to do with the possibility of an Indy Lights ride in 2010.  Miller would be an excellent choice for the team.  At this point, his plans for next season are hinging on the ever-elusive sponsorship dollar.

Richard Kent will be completing his second Indy Lights test with the team.  The 21-year-old Brit completed a test with the team early last month on the Sebring short course.  Kent spent the 2009 season in the Star Mazda ranks with Andersen Racing.  In 12-starts, he compiled 2 wins, 4 podiums, and 4 pole positions.  It’s looking increasingly likely that he will make the move to Indy Lights in 2010.

Gustavo Yacaman also tested with Andersen Racing last month on the Sebring short course.  This will be his second Indy Lights test with the team.  Yacaman made 14 starts this year in the Indy Lights series, driving for Sam Schmidt Motorsports.  He finished the season with 7 top-ten finishes.  His best finish was 4th, which occurred at the Milwaukee Mile.
