The Star Mazda Championship released their 2010 13-race, 11-weekend schedule earlier today.  Next season will be the 20th year of competition for the Star Mazda Championship.

The schedule break-down looks like this:

  • 69.2% -permanent road courses.
  • 15.4% -ovals.
  • 15.4% -street courses.

The schedule actually looks really strong, probably one of the best I’ve seen for 2010.  Yes—it does include a return to Road America.

For the full 2010 Star Mazda Championship schedule and some interesting details… Make the jump.

It’s nice to see the two oval events scheduled back-to-back and I would imagine the teams agree with me (for set-up reasons).  Another great addition to this year’s calendar is the Streets of St. Petersburg race, where the Star Mazda competitor’s will run alongside the IRL at St. Pete for the first time in history.

According to the official press release, the Star Mazda drivers will be sharing the O’Reilly Raceway Park oval in Indiana, for the ‘Night Before the 500′. with USAC and the USF2000 National Championship.  Although, this is yet to be confirmed by the the USF2000 National Championship.  Look for a schedule release shortly.
