Martin Plowman did a great job developing his craft in 2009.  He failed to really stand out in the opening races, breaking into the top-15 only once in his first six starts.  From that point on, he began to really refine his skills.  He finished inside the top-ten in 78% of his remaining races.  As noted above, he improved his average finishing position by nearly 5 places from his first 7 races to his last 8 races.  His best finish this season was 5th, which occurred at both Kansas and Mid-Ohio exemplifying his skill on both an oval and a road course.  Despite not having any previous oval experience prior to the 2009 season, his average finish on an oval (10.57) was better than his average finish on a road course (12).

He announced his plan to return the Indy Lights series in 2010 with AFS/AGR and there is no reason to believe that we won’t see even further improvement from this talented driver.
