Rusty has shown a tremendous amount of improvement this season. He drives for a family-run team (Mitchell Motorsports) with backing from Motorola. His average finishing position improved by nearly 8-spots from the first half of the season to the second half. His numbers, although good, are hampered by some bad luck, yet, his growth is evident to all who watched him this season. His best finish this season was 2nd, which occurred at Trois-Riviéres. He led every lap of that race, except for the one that counts the most— the last lap. A win is not far out of reach. It’s likely we will see the soon-to-be 27-year-old back in a Star Mazda car for 2010. If so, he will be a driver to watch.
