USF2000After months of rumors about an IRL sanctioned F2000 Pro Series, … Dan Andersen announced today that he will in fact re-establish a U.S. F2000 National Championship.

The series, which will be sanctioned by the IRL, is scheduled to feature a mixture of road courses, street circuits, and ovals.  You can read the official press release here.

Just over a month ago, I wrote an article highlighting the “pros” and “cons” of creating a USF2000 National Championship.  Feel free to post your feelings on the issue via the comment section.

awesome, this should be a great series and offer a level of professionalism that is necessary in Junior open wheel racing. Most important thing will be the schedule. IF they can manage to get most of the events on eiither the indy car or Mazda/Atlantic weekends then it will for sure succeed.

With Formula BMW going bust I guess this was logical.

However, can I go off on a graphic design rant?? Any chance USF2000 drops some $$$ on a proper, professionally created logo??? OMG this is hideous!!!

Good luck embroidering it & holding all the details. Sorry, we can go back to the racing talk! :) :)

I believe the logo will be totally redesigned after the sponsors are announced.

Thats good… but how sad that the “old” US F2000 series’ lack of corporate support resulted in the mess above!
