Martin Plowman, aka Plowey, has signed with AFS/AGR for the 2010 Indy Lights season.

The 22-year-old British driver completed a test with the team last month at Mid-Ohio prior to today’s announcement.

Plowman just finished his rookie season of Indy Lights competition with Panther Racing.  He ended the year with 8 top-ten finishes.  His most notable drive came this weekend at Homestead-Miami in the series’ season-finale where he drove from 17th on the grid to finish 7th.  His best finish of the year was 5th—which occurred at both Kansas and Mid-Ohio.

Plowman has done a nice job of adapting to an Indy Lights car this year, competing on both ovals and road courses.  He has been improving every race and I fully expect to see even better results out of him in 2010.  Just to give you an idea of his progress… his average finish in his first eight races was 13.25, whereas his average finish in the last seven events has been 9.14.

The 2010 season kicks off on March 27th & 28th on the Streets of St. Petersburg.
