Formula BMW-Americas multi-race winner Giancarlo Vilarinho will make his Star Mazda debut this weekend at Laguna Seca.
Vilarinho will drive the #73 AIM Autosport entry this weekend, on October 10th, in the Star Mazda season finale. He has already completed a few Star Mazda tests, most recently at the high speed Mosport International Raceway.
The Brazilian driver finished 2nd in the 2009 Formula BMW-Americas championship with 7 wins and 9 podiums after 14-starts.
I fully expect him to do quite well this weekend, he has been very impressive this year in Formula BMW action. It’s likely that we will see him make a full-time commitment to the Star Mazda Championship in 2010.
