Josef Newgarden won the first two races of the weekend in the British Formula Ford Championship at Brands Hatch and finished 5th in the third race.  It was a great weekend, no doubt, but Newgarden was unable to close-in on championship leader James Cole… who finished 3rd, 2nd, and 1st on the weekend.  Cole now holds a 61 point lead over Newgarden with four races remaining on the 2009 calendar.

Josef has 8 wins and 13 podiums in 21-starts.  The 18-year-old American is currently holding onto second place in the overall championship.  British driver Garry Findlay is third, trailing Josef by 32 points.
