Markus Niemela Conquers Miller Motorsports Park

Finnish rookie, Markus Niemela completed a very solid weekend at Miller Motorsports Park by winning his first Atlantic Championship race. The 24 year old driver became the seventh different winner this season. He also set the fastest time overall in the two qualifying sessions earning his first career pole position in the Atlantic Championship.

Niemela has consistently shown his speed this season, finishing inside the top three on four occasions. His consistency has proven valuable as he now sits only 10 points behind championship leader Jonathan Bomarito and 2 points behind Jonathan Summerton who remains in second. The championship battle will continue on October 2nd at Road Atlanta.

Jonathan Bomarito, Jonathan Summerton and Markus Niemela are the only three drivers who remain in contention for the 2008 title.
